The financial institution's conservation effort, branded as 'Ride for the Rosette,' continued its journey across the island with a visit to Wilpattu, one of the country's most significant wildlife reserves and a critical habitat for the endangered Sri Lankan leopard.
Wilpattu National Park, located in the North Western Province, represents a key ecosystem for the rosette-spotted big cat. The reserve's diverse terrain and established leopard population made it a natural choice for inclusion in DFCC Bank's multi-stop awareness campaign throughout 2026.
The initiative represents part of broader efforts to protect Sri Lanka's endemic leopard subspecies through education, community engagement, and support for conservation initiatives. By visiting multiple locations across the country, the campaign seeks to mobilize public interest and backing for leopard preservation efforts.
With Wilpattu marking the fifth stop on the itinerary, DFCC Bank has signaled its commitment to expanding the reach of its conservation message beyond urban centers to areas directly adjacent to leopard habitats. The programme underscores the growing corporate involvement in wildlife protection initiatives within Sri Lanka.
