The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is moving forward with plans to establish quick reaction teams dedicated to handling emergencies in educational institutions nationwide, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Friday.

Remulla announced the initiative during a press briefing at Camp Crame, underscoring the government's commitment to enhancing safety protocols in schools. The teams will be developed through a collaborative effort between the DILG and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The creation of these specialized units represents an effort to strengthen emergency response capabilities in schools and ensure rapid intervention during crisis situations. The DILG has not yet provided specific details regarding the timeline for implementation or the scope of the team deployments.

The announcement comes as schools nationwide continue to review and strengthen their security measures and emergency preparedness programs.
