MANILA — The Department of the Interior and Local Government released updated mugshots of Martin Romualdez on Tuesday, a day after the former House Speaker and incumbent Leyte 1st District representative was transferred to the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas.

The transfer was executed on Monday night following an order issued by the Sandiganbayan Third Division, the anti-graft court's judicial panel overseeing the case.

Romualdez, a prominent political figure in the Visayas region, has been the subject of legal proceedings before the anti-graft court. The release of the new photographs marks an administrative step in the processing of his detention at the government facility.

The New Quezon City Jail, located in the Payatas area of Quezon City, serves as a detention center for high-profile inmates in legal custody. The transfer from his previous holding location reflects the court's directive regarding his custodial status.
