Provincial Governor Nilo P. Demerey Jr. presided over groundbreaking ceremonies in Barangay Llamera, signaling the start of work on the dual projects that are expected to generate economic benefits for local communities. The initiatives represent a strategic effort to diversify the province's economic base while promoting sustainable development.
The first component involves construction of a soil laboratory facility aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and food production capabilities across Dinagat Islands. The facility is intended to support local farmers through soil testing and analysis services, enabling more informed farming decisions and improved crop yields.
The second project centers on an ecotourism boardwalk designed to capitalize on the province's natural attractions and environmental assets. The infrastructure development is positioned to encourage visitor spending while promoting conservation of the region's ecosystems and cultural heritage.
Provincial officials indicated that both projects align with broader development objectives to create employment opportunities and improve quality of life for residents. The investments underscore the government's commitment to balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability in the Dinagat Islands region.
