DIPOLOG CITY – Classes for kindergarten and elementary students in Dipolog have been suspended due to continuous heavy rains affecting the city, according to an official municipal advisory issued Friday, October 30.
The suspension covers both public and private educational institutions offering kindergarten through elementary programs. The order was implemented in response to deteriorating weather conditions that created unsafe conditions for students traveling to and from school.
The advisory did not specify when classes would resume, with officials indicating that decisions would be made based on weather developments in the coming days. Residents and school officials were urged to monitor official city announcements for updates on the class suspension status.
The measure follows similar weather-related class suspensions affecting other parts of the Zamboanga region, as tropical rains continue to impact communities across the province. Dipolog City officials emphasized the safety of students and school personnel as the primary consideration in issuing the suspension order.
