A disability rights activist in Uttarakhand's capital has lodged a complaint against the alleged wife of former minister Har Singh Rawat, accusing her of withholding payment following a property purchase in Dehradun. Hariyom Sahgal, the complainant, claims he transferred funds for the residential property but has not received the agreed consideration worth Rs 56 lakh.
The case has drawn attention to the potential misuse of political connections in real estate transactions. Sahgal approached law enforcement seeking remedial action against the alleged perpetrator of the financial fraud.
The Senior Superintendent of Police has transferred the matter to the City Police Superintendent for further investigation and fact-finding. Authorities are expected to examine documentary evidence related to the property transaction and the payment agreements between the parties involved.
The case underscores ongoing concerns about financial fraud in property dealings across Indian states, particularly where high-profile individuals are allegedly involved. The investigation's progress remains pending as police gather evidence and statements from relevant parties.
