Zahid emphasised that a comprehensive approach to disaster preparedness is essential for safeguarding both private and public assets against the increasing threats posed by natural disasters in the region. He stressed that organisations and communities must prioritise advance planning, early warning systems, and coordinated response mechanisms to minimise damage when calamities occur.

The Deputy Prime Minister's remarks reflect growing concerns across Malaysia and Southeast Asia about escalating disaster risks, including flooding, landslides, and severe weather events that have caused billions of ringgit in losses in recent years. Effective disaster preparedness programmes, he noted, require cooperation between government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and local communities.

Zahid called for sustained investment in disaster management infrastructure and training programmes to enhance the nation's resilience. He stressed that proactive measures, including regular drills, updated emergency protocols, and public awareness campaigns, are vital components of a comprehensive disaster risk reduction strategy that protects economic interests and saves lives.
