District Magistrate Steps In to Help Student After Bicycle Theft

A student's plea for help reached the desk of Bareilly's District Magistrate Avinash Kumar this week, prompting immediate administrative action. Nitu, 22, approached the district magistrate's office to file a complaint about her stolen bicycle, which had gone missing from her hostel at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) college three months earlier.

Without her bicycle, the student faced considerable hardship commuting to and from her educational institution. Upon hearing her predicament, District Magistrate Kumar decided to intervene personally, recognizing the impact the loss had on her ability to pursue her studies.

DM Kumar accompanied his office staff to the local market, where they purchased a new bicycle for the student. The gesture aimed to eliminate the transportation barrier that had been hampering her academic progress. The incident highlights how administrative officials at the district level can provide direct assistance to citizens facing hardship, particularly students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds relying on basic transportation for education.
