Dizon Says 2027 Budget Revisions Focus on Flood Control and Infrastructure

MANILA — Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon on Thursday clarified the scope of the administration's planned revisions to the 2027 national budget, stressing that while flood control projects would receive significant focus, other infrastructure priorities would continue to receive funding.

Dizon made the remarks during an ambush interview at the Batasang Pambansa complex, addressing concerns that the proposed budget amendments might narrow the government's infrastructure agenda. He explained that the realignment of resources was designed to strengthen the nation's capacity to manage flooding while maintaining investments in other essential public works.

The clarification comes as the government moves forward with its comprehensive infrastructure program ahead of the new fiscal year. The Public Works secretary indicated that the budget modifications would strategically distribute resources to address both immediate flood mitigation needs and longer-term infrastructure development goals.
