Djokovic suffers shock defeat to Struff in Basel tournament

Djokovic's campaign at the Swiss indoor tournament came to an unexpected end when Struff mounted an impressive recovery to claim victory in their encounter. The German player demonstrated resilience and tactical acumen to overturn an unfavorable position during the match, ultimately securing his passage to the next round.

The loss represents a rare stumble for Djokovic, who has historically dominated the professional tennis circuit. While the champion managed to secure early momentum in the contest, his inability to maintain his advantage proved costly as Struff adjusted his strategy and exploited key opportunities.

Struff's breakthrough performance underscores the competitive depth present at elite tennis tournaments, where momentum shifts can dramatically alter match outcomes. The German's aggressive approach and consistency in critical moments proved decisive against one of the sport's most accomplished players.

The Basel tournament continues with remaining matches scheduled throughout the week. Djokovic will return his attention to other commitments as he seeks to rebuild momentum following the unexpected elimination.
