DK Shivakumar clarifies Rahul Gandhi gesture at Supreme Court march

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday clarified that Rahul Gandhi's gesture towards him during the INDIA bloc's march to the Supreme Court last week was motivated by concern rather than any confrontational intent. The clarification came after the BJP shared a video clip from the event that appeared to show Gandhi making a physical gesture in Shivakumar's direction. Addressing the controversy, Shivakumar said Gandhi was simply worried about his well-being given the massive crowd that had gathered for the opposition coalition's show of strength. "Rahul didn't push me. He was only concerned because the crowd was huge," the Chief Minister said, downplaying any suggestion of discord within the alliance. The INDIA bloc's march to the Supreme Court was part of a coordinated opposition response to political developments the coalition viewed as unfavorable. Shivakumar's statement underscores the coalition's efforts to present a united front amid attempts by the ruling BJP to highlight potential fractures within the opposition alliance.
