DMDK withdraws election petition against Congress MP Tagore's victory

The petition had accused three senior DMK ministers of exerting undue pressure on the Returning Officer to influence the election results. The allegations specifically named K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, Thangam Thennarasu and P. Moorthy of abusing their positions to interfere with the conduct of the election.

The withdrawal of the petition comes as DMDK, which has maintained an alliance with the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, seeks to avoid prolonged legal confrontation over the electoral outcome.
