The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has disbursed P615,000 in livelihood support to 41 returning overseas Filipino workers in Cebu, according to an announcement Wednesday. The assistance was distributed on August 18 in the central Visayan province through the Enhanced Livelihood Program for OFW Reintegration (ELPOR).

The ELPOR initiative is designed to facilitate the transition of migrant workers returning to the Philippines by providing financial support for livelihood projects. The program aims to help beneficiaries either establish new income-generating activities or strengthen existing enterprises as they reintegrate into local communities.

The distribution in Cebu represents part of the DMW's broader mandate to support returning OFWs in their economic reintegration. Officials have emphasized the importance of such programs in helping former overseas workers secure sustainable livelihoods upon their return to the country.
