DNA analysis of Sarawak helicopter crash victims completed

Sarawak police commissioner Zainal Abdullah confirmed that DNA analysis of the five victims from the helicopter crash has been completed, clearing the way for the remains to be released to their families.

The identification process, conducted through forensic analysis, has enabled authorities to formally identify each of the victims involved in the incident. Zainal said the remains would be handed over to next of kin today, allowing families to proceed with funeral arrangements according to their respective customs and religious practices.

The helicopter crash, which claimed five lives, had prompted a thorough investigation by Sarawak police in coordination with other relevant authorities. The DNA analysis represented a critical phase in the identification process, particularly given the nature of the incident.
