DOH taps Domingo to lead Essential Life-Saving Services Cluster

MANILA — The Department of Health has appointed Dr. Albert Domingo as head of the Essential Life-Saving Services Cluster (ELSS), effective September 21, marking a significant shift in the agency's organizational structure.
As ELSS chief, Domingo will oversee a portfolio encompassing critical health services including blood banking and transfusion services, organ donation and transplantation coordination, and drug abuse prevention and treatment programs. The appointment reflects the DOH's emphasis on strengthening life-critical health interventions across the country.
Domingo's new role places him at the center of initiatives designed to improve access to emergency medical services and substance abuse rehabilitation. The ELSS cluster coordinates with hospitals, medical facilities, and community health programs nationwide to ensure the availability of essential services to Filipino patients.
The undersecretary's appointment comes as the health department continues implementing reforms under the current administration's public health agenda. His leadership of the cluster is expected to enhance coordination among various DOH units managing life-saving services.
