DOJ Official Urges Bullying Victims to Seek Adult Help
A Department of Justice official has stressed that students suffering from bullying should report incidents to trusted adults rather than attempt to retaliate against their tormentors. The message was delivered during an anti-bullying awareness session in Metro Manila.

Justice Undersecretary Ian Norman Dato emphasized the importance of seeking support from persons in authority when facing bullying, speaking at an Anti-Bullying Information Workshop held at Bagong Tanyag Integrated School in Taguig City. Dato highlighted that victims should not resort to self-help measures or seek retribution independently, but instead rely on responsible adults and institutional support systems to address harassment. The workshop aimed to equip students, parents, and educators with strategies to recognize and respond to bullying incidents within school communities. The DOJ initiative underscores the government's commitment to creating safer educational environments across the Philippines. Officials stressed that reporting mechanisms and proper intervention by trained personnel are essential to protecting vulnerable students and preventing the cycle of violence in schools.
