MANILA — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued guidelines governing holiday pay rates for workers during 2027, providing employers and employees with clear compensation standards for the year ahead.
Under Proclamation No. 1427, the 2027 holiday calendar includes 11 regular holidays: January 1 (New Year's Day), March 25 and 26 (Holy Week observances), April 9 (Day of Valor), May 1 (Labor Day), June 12 (Independence Day), August 30 (National Heroes Day), November 30 (Bonifacio Day), December 25 (Christmas Day), and December 30 (Rizal Day). Eid'l Fitr is also recognized as a special non-working day.
The DOLE's release of these guidelines ahead of the year enables businesses to plan their payroll operations and ensures workers understand their entitlements during public holidays. Employers are required to comply with statutory holiday compensation rates, which typically provide enhanced pay for work performed on these designated days.
