DPWH chief denies existence of ghost projects in Taguig City

MANILA — The Department of Public Works and Highways has no ghost projects in Taguig City, according to Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon, who made the assertion during a Senate finance subcommittee hearing on the agency's budget.
Dizon's statement corroborated positions raised by Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano during the same budget hearing, where concerns about stalled infrastructure projects were under scrutiny.
The DPWH chief's confirmation came as the Senate examined the department's budget allocation and project implementation across the country. Ghost projects — infrastructure initiatives that remain incomplete or abandoned despite budget allocation — have long been a concern in Philippine governance.
