DPWH chief set to testify in graft trial over Mindoro flood project

MANILA — The Sandiganbayan has scheduled Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon to testify in the graft case against former Representative Zaldy Co and his co-accused, the anti-graft court announced Wednesday.
The trial centers on accusations of irregularities surrounding a flood control project in Mindoro. Dizon's testimony is expected to address the department's oversight and inspection procedures related to the initiative under investigation.
The case has already heard testimony from a co-accused who raised questions about the DPWH's diligence in project inspections and monitoring. As the current DPWH secretary, Dizon's account of departmental protocols may prove significant in establishing whether proper procedures were followed.
