MANILA — The Department of Public Works and Highways will ask Congress to redistribute roughly P20 billion in funding among its infrastructure initiatives as the House of Representatives debates the agency's proposed 2027 budget allocation.
Surigao del Sur Representative Romeo Momo, Sr., who is sponsoring the DPWH's P643.95 billion funding proposal, disclosed Thursday that the department plans to request the reallocation to address evolving infrastructure priorities and project requirements.
The budget reallocation represents approximately 3.1 percent of the DPWH's total proposed appropriation for next year. While specific details about which projects would see funding adjustments remain unclear, such reallocations are common during budget deliberations as agencies seek to optimize resource distribution across their portfolios.
