Dream11 pivots to sports content platform, exits fantasy games

Dream11 announced on Thursday that it has fully transitioned from pure-play fantasy sports to a comprehensive sports engagement platform, discontinuing all prize-linked offerings in the process. The company said it will now concentrate exclusively on sports content, live streaming, statistics, scores, commentary, community features, experiences, and social contests.

Prior to the regulatory crackdown, Dream11 held the position of India's largest fantasy sports operator. The government's sector-wide ban forced the company to fundamentally reimagine its business model and market position.

The reformed platform will operate as an artificial intelligence-first service, delivering highly personalised experiences tailored to individual users based on their preferred sports, leagues, teams, and players. Dream11 aims to leverage technology to create a unique user experience distinct from its previous gaming-focused operations.

The company is positioning itself as a multi-sport destination, targeting a global audience of sports enthusiasts. By addressing what it identifies as a gap in the market, Dream11 hopes to establish itself as a unified hub for fans worldwide seeking comprehensive sports engagement rather than traditional fantasy gaming experiences.
