LUCENA CITY — Police have arrested a drug offender for the second time after he was caught in a buy-bust operation here on Saturday morning. The 44-year-old suspect, who had previously benefited from a plea bargaining arrangement, was apprehended by members of the Lucena City Police Office's drug enforcement unit, according to Lt. Col. Ryan Hernandez, the city police chief.
The operation was conducted as an undercover drug transaction, with a police officer posing as a buyer to facilitate the arrest. The suspect was taken into custody following the controlled purchase, marking his return to police custody after his earlier release through the plea bargaining process.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about drug trafficking in the Quezon region, with authorities continuing to conduct regular enforcement operations targeting suspected drug dealers and users. The suspect now faces new charges related to the Saturday arrest.
