Anti-narcotics agents conducted a successful drug interdiction operation in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Wednesday evening, resulting in the arrest of Mahadir Arabani Udja, identified as a major narcotics distributor in the southern Philippines.
According to Abraham Solon Kalim, provincial director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM), officers executed a controlled drug transaction that led to Udja's apprehension. The suspect was found in possession of shabu with an estimated street value of P3.4 million.
The arrest represents a significant breakthrough in regional counter-narcotics efforts, targeting high-level distributors involved in the supply chain of illegal drugs across Mindanao and surrounding areas. Udja is currently in custody pending investigation and the filing of appropriate charges.
The operation underscores intensified enforcement actions by the PDEA-BARMM to dismantle drug trafficking networks operating across the autonomous region.
