LUCENA CITY — Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Calabarzon region, working in conjunction with local police, successfully shut down a suspected drug operation in Barangay Aplaya Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. The coordinated enforcement action commenced at 12:15 a.m. Sunday and resulted in the apprehension of three individuals linked to the illicit facility.
The operation unfolded as part of a buy-bust activity, a standard law enforcement technique where undercover agents pose as buyers to infiltrate drug networks. The tactical approach enabled authorities to locate and secure the drug den before expanding the operation.
The PDEA Calabarzon division, which oversees drug enforcement operations across Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon provinces, did not immediately release additional details regarding the seized substances or the identities of those arrested. All suspects remain in police custody pending further investigation and formal charges.
The operation represents part of ongoing coordinated efforts between national and local law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug manufacturing and distribution networks across the region.
