A 38-year-old man was apprehended in Barangay Pansol following the discovery of P1,451,121 in shabu from his possession, according to authorities. The arrest came after the suspect sold P500 worth of the illegal drug to an undercover police officer at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
The operation was conducted by police anti-narcotics units who monitored the suspect's activities in the coastal city south of Manila. The large quantity of methamphetamine seized suggests the suspect was involved in mid-to-high level drug distribution in the region.
The suspect is currently detained and faces charges related to the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Police said the bust dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in Laguna province, which has been identified as a key transit point for narcotics destined for Metro Manila and other areas.
