Flight FZ 1165, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, was forced to alter its route and land at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow at 6:53 pm, according to officials familiar with the operation. The diversion was necessitated entirely by adverse weather conditions prevailing at Pokhara's airport, with no technical issues or safety emergencies involved in the decision.
The aircraft, bearing registration A6-FMU, touched down safely at the Lucknow facility, where passengers and crew remained until weather patterns at the final destination improved. The flight subsequently departed Lucknow at 8:08 pm to complete its journey to Nepal's tourism hub.
Weather-related diversions remain a common occurrence on South Asian routes, particularly during monsoon seasons when visibility and atmospheric conditions can deteriorate rapidly. Airports across the region routinely coordinate with incoming flights to ensure passenger safety during such challenging conditions.
