Duterte defense team to resume AMLC records examination in ongoing trial
Vice President Sara Duterte's legal team will continue cross-examining a senior official from the Anti-Money Laundering Council on Tuesday, extending scrutiny of the VP's financial records into the trial's sixth week.

The defense panel is scheduled to resume its cross-examination of Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) Secretariat Executive Director Atty. Ronel Buenaventura during Tuesday's proceedings, marking day 34 of the trial against the Vice President.
Buenaventura has been testifying on bank transactions linked to Duterte and her husband, Atty. Manases. Monday's session stretched for eight hours, though the defense completed examination of only the AMLC official during that time, suggesting the cross-questioning remains substantial and ongoing.
The extended cross-examination reflects the defense strategy of thoroughly investigating the financial records presented as evidence in the case. The pace of questioning indicates the trial proceedings may continue at a measured tempo as attorneys work through complex banking and financial documentation.
The Vice President faces charges in what has become a protracted legal proceeding. Tuesday's session will determine whether additional testimony from Buenaventura is required or whether the defense has completed its questioning of the witness.
