Duterte's legal counsel, Peter Paul Danao, submitted an affidavit to the NBI on Monday asserting the congressman's denial of the cash delivery allegations. The submission marks Duterte's formal response to accusations involving the purported transfer of funds by the dismissed policeman.

In addition to denying the cash receipt claims, Duterte's camp questioned the constitutional and legal basis for the NBI's involvement in the matter. The challenge to investigative jurisdiction represents a key component of the representative's defense strategy against the allegations.

The case has drawn significant attention given Duterte's prominence as a congressman from Mindanao's largest city. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the veracity of the claims surrounding the alleged cash transactions.

Duterte's response through legal counsel indicates the congressman intends to vigorously contest the accusations and contest the investigative process itself. The matter is likely to face further legal and procedural developments in the coming days.
