The Taguig City Prosecutor's Office has dismissed Vice President Sara Duterte's perjury complaint against Ramil Madriaga, her alleged former aide, determining there was insufficient evidence to proceed with the case. The decision marks the second legal setback for the Vice President in as many days.
A day prior to the Taguig dismissal, the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office had also thrown out a complaint filed by Duterte's husband, Manases Carpio, against several lawmakers on related charges.
The consecutive dismissals come as Duterte prepares for arraignment in another ongoing case. The Vice President has faced mounting legal challenges in recent weeks, with various cases proceeding through the Philippine court system.
