MANILA – Prosecutors in Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial presented corporate records on Monday, the 27th day of proceedings, as they sought to establish her alleged undisclosed business interests.
Gerardo del Rosario, director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Company Registration and Monitoring Department, testified on the corporate entities in question. Del Rosario confirmed that Duterte was listed as an incorporator in at least 18 companies, according to SEC documentation.
The prosecution's focus on corporate records represents a shift in the trial's evidentiary approach, moving beyond earlier testimony and documents to establish patterns of alleged financial dealings. The trial has been proceeding in the House of Representatives, where impeachment complaints were filed against the Vice President.
