The Vice President's legal team has pledged to file a formal affidavit with the National Bureau of Investigation addressing controversy surrounding alleged cash transactions, according to NBI Director Melvin Matibag.

Matibag stated that Duterte's counsel confirmed their appearance scheduled for Thursday to submit the affidavit. The document constitutes the Vice President's official response to accusations leveled by Rodulfo Gracioso Jr., a former police officer who was dismissed from service.

Gracioso had previously implicated Duterte in allegations related to a cash delivery incident. The NBI investigation into the matter has drawn significant public attention as it involves the country's second-highest government official.

The commitment from Duterte's legal representatives marks a significant development in the ongoing probe. The submission of the affidavit is expected to provide the Vice President's account of the events in question and may help clarify the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
