DYFI flags irregular appointments at Kerala institute, seeks investigation

The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has levelled accusations of backdoor appointments at the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA), claiming the UDF government circumvented established recruitment norms. The youth organisation cited the appointments of two Muslim Students Federation (MSF) functionaries as evidence of irregular hiring practices that violated transparent selection procedures.

The DYFI contends that the appointments represent a violation of merit-based recruitment standards and constitute nepotistic practices within the state administration. The organisation has demanded an independent investigation into the matter and called for immediate intervention by relevant authorities to review the hiring decisions.

In response to what it views as administrative irregularities, the DYFI has announced plans to stage a march to KILA on Thursday as part of its campaign to draw public and official attention to the alleged violations. The protest is expected to intensify pressure on the state government to address the youth outfit's concerns regarding institutional governance and procedural integrity.

The incident reflects ongoing tensions over recruitment practices in Kerala's public institutions, with opposition groups closely scrutinising government appointments for compliance with merit-based selection criteria.
