Easterlies to drench Northern Luzon; thunderstorms expected nationwide

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned of unsettled weather conditions across the archipelago as easterly winds sweep across the region.

Northern Luzon will bear the brunt of the weather system, with residents expecting overcast conditions and periodic rainfall throughout Tuesday. The easterlies, moisture-laden winds originating from the Pacific Ocean, typically bring cooler temperatures and increased precipitation to the northern portions of the country.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Philippines should prepare for isolated to scattered thunderstorms as localized convective activity develops across the islands. These afternoon and evening showers may occur with little warning and could be accompanied by strong winds and occasional lightning.

Residents in affected areas are advised to exercise caution during the expected rainy period and to avoid flood-prone zones. The weather bureau will continue monitoring atmospheric conditions and issue updates as the weather system evolves throughout the week.
