TACLOBAN CITY — A fisherman identified only as "Rod" was stabbed to death while sleeping in San Policarpo town, Eastern Samar, on Saturday afternoon, police said. The victim, a widower and longtime resident of the municipality, was attacked at approximately 4 p.m. following an earlier heated argument with his drinking companion.

According to police accounts, tensions escalated during a drinking session between the two men, culminating in the fatal stabbing while the victim was asleep.
