TACLOBAN CITY — Law enforcement authorities in Eastern Visayas conducted an aggressive crackdown on criminal activity throughout August, according to the Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8). The operations resulted in the arrest of 1,145 violators and the seizure of contraband and illegal materials worth P18.96 million across 1,012 separate law enforcement actions.

The regional police office said the campaign targeted multiple areas of concern, including illegal drug trafficking, insurgent activities, and other criminal violations. The sustained, intelligence-driven approach enabled officers to identify and apprehend suspects operating across the region's multiple provinces and municipalities.

The August enforcement drive represents the continuation of PRO-8's broader crime prevention strategy focused on maintaining peace and order throughout Eastern Visayas. Officials indicated the campaign would persist as part of efforts to disrupt criminal networks and reduce illegal activities in the region.
