ED takes fresh action against Dawood Ibrahim's brother in money laundering case

The Enforcement Directorate intensified its action against Iqbal Kaskar by reclaiming possession of a residential flat in Thane, Maharashtra, in connection with a money laundering investigation. The move marks the latest development in the prolonged case against Dawood Ibrahim's younger brother, who has been under scrutiny for alleged financial crimes.

In parallel with the recovery of the property, authorities have registered a First Information Report addressing charges of alleged unauthorized occupation. The FIR represents an escalation in the multi-agency approach to address the criminal financial networks allegedly linked to Kaskar.

Iqbal Kaskar, who operates primarily from Indian territory unlike his fugitive brother, has been previously arrested and interrogated in connection with extortion and money laundering allegations. The reassertion of control over the Thane asset underscores ongoing efforts by financial investigators to dismantle criminal proceeds and prevent their use in illicit activities.

The ED's action reflects heightened enforcement activity targeting organized crime networks and their financial infrastructure. The investigation continues as authorities work to establish the full scope of alleged illegal wealth accumulation and its sources.
