Edwards was the standout performer in the lopsided contest, showcasing his scoring prowess with an efficient shooting display that included nine three-pointers. The Timberwolves' star guard's explosive offensive output proved too much for Miami to contain, establishing early control that the Heat were unable to challenge throughout the game.
The 106-point total represented a significant defensive effort from Minnesota, which limited Miami's offensive options and prevented Antetokounmpo from making an immediate impact in his new surroundings. The 31-point margin of victory underscored the Timberwolves' comprehensive dominance across all phases of the game.
Edwards' performance highlighted Minnesota's depth and offensive firepower, with the guard leading a balanced team effort. The victory demonstrated the Timberwolves' ability to execute against quality opponents while the Heat faced an early test following their roster addition.
