Central Luzon police arrested eight suspects Thursday in connection with illegal fuel trading and distribution across Victoria, Tarlac, according to a statement released Friday. The operation resulted in the seizure of fuel valued at several million pesos.

Initial arrests of two men in Barangay Santa Catalina led authorities to uncover what police characterized as an organized fuel smuggling ring. The investigation expanded as officers traced the network's connections and supply chains across the region.

Central Luzon police intelligence operatives coordinated the arrests as part of an ongoing crackdown on black market fuel activities. The illegal fuel trade poses significant concerns to authorities, as smuggled products bypass taxation and regulatory controls while potentially supplying substandard fuel to consumers.

The eight suspects remain under police custody pending investigation. Authorities said additional charges would be filed following completion of their inquiry into the alleged operation.
