Eighth-grader dies of suspected cardiac arrest at Lucknow school

The boy, identified as Atharv, a Class VIII student from Jankipuram in Lucknow, collapsed suddenly while in school on Monday morning. He fell to the ground while still wearing his school bag, according to witnesses at the institution.

The student was rushed to a nearby hospital following the incident, but medical personnel declared him deceased upon arrival. Doctors at the medical facility indicated that cardiac arrest may have been the primary cause of death, though a complete autopsy report is pending.

The unexpected death has left Atharv's parents devastated. The boy had left home that morning in good spirits, unaware that he would not return. His father had reportedly dropped him at school as part of their daily routine.

The incident has raised concerns among parents and school authorities in the region. Medical professionals note that while cardiac events in adolescents are relatively uncommon, they can occur without prior warning signs. The family has been advised to undergo genetic screening to determine if underlying cardiac conditions contributed to the teenager's death.
