Ejercito pushes for long-term national infrastructure master plan

MANILA — Senate Senior Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito has renewed his advocacy for Senate Bill No. 2, the proposed Masterplan for Infrastructure and National Development (MIND) Act, during a legislative session on Wednesday.

Ejercito is championing the measure to create a long-term and integrated infrastructure strategy for the country. The proposed framework would establish a development roadmap spanning three to five decades, designed to provide continuity and coordination across multiple administrations and infrastructure initiatives.

The MIND Act seeks to address the Philippines' infrastructure needs through comprehensive planning that transcends typical political cycles. Such a master plan would theoretically enable government agencies, private sector partners, and local governments to align their respective projects with overarching national development objectives.

The bill represents an effort to move beyond incremental infrastructure development toward a strategically coordinated approach that takes into account long-term economic growth, regional development, and resource allocation priorities across the archipelago.
