Police arrested the elderly driver after the vehicle was discovered on the railway line in Port Klang on Sunday. The SUV had travelled a considerable distance along the tracks before being intercepted, raising safety concerns among transport officials.
The incident occurred in an area serviced by KTMB, the national railway operator. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver may have inadvertently steered onto the railway crossing, though the exact circumstances remain under review by both police and railway authorities.
KTMB has launched its own inquiry into the matter to determine how the vehicle accessed the tracks and to assess any potential risks to rail operations. The agency has not disclosed whether train services were disrupted during the incident or if any trains were in the vicinity at the time.
Officers have since secured the vehicle and are conducting further questioning of the suspect. The case serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by unauthorised access to railway infrastructure and the importance of proper level crossing safety measures.
