Elderly man held over alleged machete attack on wife

A senior citizen in Kota Tinggi has been remanded in police custody for four days following allegations that he slashed his wife's hand with a machete. The incident occurred at a residential area in the district.

The 67-year-old man was arrested following a report lodged by his wife, who sustained injuries to her right hand during the alleged attack. Police launched an investigation after the victim sought medical attention at a local health facility.

Kota Tinggi district police confirmed that the suspect has been remanded for four days to facilitate further investigations into the case. The remand order was issued by the magistrate's court to allow authorities to gather additional evidence and statements from witnesses.

Initial investigations suggest the incident occurred at the couple's residence in Taman Desa. The machete used in the alleged attack has been seized as evidence. Police are continuing their inquiries to establish the circumstances that led to the incident.
