Elderly woman dies following flat fire in Bukit Panjang
A 77-year-old resident has died after a fire broke out at a Housing and Development Board flat in Bukit Panjang on Monday. She was found unconscious at the scene and pronounced dead at hospital.

The fatal fire occurred at Block 126 Pending Road in the Bukit Panjang area. Emergency responders attended the scene after the blaze was reported, and the elderly woman was discovered unconscious within the flat. She was immediately conveyed to hospital for medical treatment.
Despite receiving emergency care, the woman succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire. The Singapore Civil Defence Force and police have since launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. Preliminary reports indicate the blaze was contained to the affected unit, though authorities are working to establish how the fire originated and whether any safety protocols were breached.
