Yadav claimed that during the 2022 Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly elections, voters associated with the Samajwadi Party were deliberately identified and subsequently removed from electoral rolls. This allegation suggests a pattern of selective disenfranchisement that he contends undermines the electoral process.
The remarks come as tensions between opposition parties and the Election Commission remain high in several Indian states. Yadav's comments reflect broader concerns from opposition quarters about the neutrality and functioning of key constitutional institutions, particularly during election cycles.
