Election Commission must address public trust concerns, says Chirag Paswan

Chirag Paswan has urged the Election Commission of India to proactively address concerns among voters regarding the integrity of the electoral process. Speaking on the issue, the LJP(Ram Vilas) leader emphasized that public confidence in democratic institutions is paramount for the health of the nation's electoral framework.
"If the people start losing trust in the electoral system, that will not augur well for democracy," Paswan said, underscoring the gravity of the situation. He asserted that the poll body has a responsibility to take decisive action in dispelling doubts among the general population.
While acknowledging criticism from various quarters, Paswan suggested that the Election Commission need not respond to every political comment or allegation. However, he stressed that the commission must forcefully clarify its position on matters affecting public perception of electoral fairness.
