Sri Aman and Serian in Sarawak topped the national index at 174, placing them in the unhealthy category and prompting concerns about air quality in the region.
The widespread haze affected locations nationwide, though concentrations appeared highest in East Malaysia. Authorities have been monitoring air quality levels closely as the haze episode continues to develop across the country.
