Elon Musk and America PAC have reached a settlement agreement in two related lawsuits filed in federal court in Austin, Texas, according to filings reviewed by the court overseeing the cases. The lawsuits centred on a controversial million-dollar daily lottery programme that Musk's political action committee administered during the 2024 election period.
The lottery scheme, which offered substantial cash prizes to registered voters in key swing states, drew legal challenges from multiple quarters concerned about its potential to influence electoral outcomes. Critics argued the programme raised questions about election integrity and voter incentivisation practices.
Both parties notified the presiding judge that they had reached a settlement in principle, though the agreement remains subject to formal court approval. The terms of the settlement have not been publicly disclosed, and it remains unclear whether financial compensation or other remedies form part of the arrangement.
The resolution of these lawsuits marks the conclusion of one of several legal challenges Musk and his affiliated entities have faced regarding their involvement in the 2024 election campaign. The settlement must still receive judicial sign-off before it becomes binding on all parties involved.
