Emami, one of India's leading homegrown fast-moving consumer goods manufacturers, announced on Monday that its board of directors will meet this week to evaluate a buyback of its fully paid-up equity shares. In a regulatory filing, the company stated that the board meeting is scheduled for September 17, 2026, to consider the buyback proposal along with related and incidental matters. However, the company did not disclose details regarding the size or price band for the proposed repurchase programme.
The outcome of the board deliberations will be communicated to the stock exchanges immediately after the meeting concludes on September 17. This move comes at a time when investor sentiment in the company's stock has shown volatility over the past year.
Emami's equity shares closed at Rs 364.35 on the BSE on Friday. Over the preceding 52-week period, the stock had scaled a high of Rs 612.40 on September 18, 2025, while touching a low of Rs 361.25 on September 1, 2026. The company's revenue for FY26 stood at Rs 3,048.26 crore, underscoring its significant presence in the Indian consumer goods sector.
