Emergency brakes trigger injuries on Sunway Lagoon roller-coaster

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JKKP) has attributed injuries sustained by passengers on a Sunway Lagoon roller-coaster to an unexpected activation of the ride's emergency braking system.
According to the department, the attraction failed to launch approximately 200 metres from its release point, causing the automatic emergency brake system to engage. The malfunction resulted in the sudden deceleration that caused passengers to sustain injuries.
Sunway Lagoon, one of Malaysia's largest theme parks located in the Klang Valley, has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident. The emergency brake activation was designed as a safety feature to prevent accidents, though the sudden engagement in this case resulted in passenger injuries.
The incident is under investigation by park authorities and safety officials. Sunway Lagoon visitors have been advised of the situation as the park continues normal operations on other attractions.
