Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, highlighted the transformative potential of emerging technologies for India's vast MSME ecosystem on Saturday. Speaking at the Delhi MSME Conclave organised by the Northern India Regional Council of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Epao underscored how technology adoption could enhance productivity, improve operational efficiency and build enterprise resilience.
For smaller enterprises in particular, affordable and accessible technology solutions are critical to supporting their transition towards more sustainable and human-centric production systems, according to Epao. The official's comments reflect growing recognition within government circles that technology integration is essential for MSMEs to remain competitive and develop new market capabilities.
The ICMAI, which organised the conclave, is the world's largest cost and management accounting body. Founded in 1944, it boasts a global network of over 6 lakh students and 1 lakh qualified professionals across the world. The institute regularly convenes forums to discuss emerging business challenges and opportunities for India's enterprise sector.
